Microsoft Corporation ‘s Surface Pro 5 will likely be launched early next year with impressive specs and features. The software giant was expected to launch the new hybrid PC tablet at the end of October, but new reports suggest that the device will arrive in January 2017, Game & Guide reported. The highly-anticipated Surface Pro 5 will compete with Apple’s iPad Pro 2 and MacBook Pro 2016, according to the report.

Microsoft has yet to make an official announcement regarding the Surface Pro 5. But fans and critics continue to share their own prediction about the device on the Internet. In fact, rumors about the Surface Pro 5 have been floating since the launch of the current model. Let’s take a look at what people are saying about the Surface Pro 5.

The PC tablet is said to come with the Kaby Lake, Intel’s next generation core processor. Intel is planning to start shipping the new chipset later this year, which is in perfect timing for the January release of Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

Please note that some Apple lovers reportedly criticized the company for using old CPU chips in its new MacBook Pro. According to a report from Fortune, users are disappointed to see the new laptop with a CPU based on Intel’s three-year-old Skylake platform. They were expecting the tech behemoth to use new Kaby Lake platform.

A report from PC Advisor suggested that the Surface Pro 5 is likely to have a new Surface Pen that features a rechargeable battery system. This allows the pen to charge power by itself when it is attached to the tablet.

The Surface Pro 5 is rumored to come with 16 GB of RAM and the latest Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system. Rumors suggest that Microsoft will release the Surface Pro 5 in two variants, which feature will different display technology. The one model will offer full 2K support, while the high-end model will provide 4K support.

According to the reports, Microsoft is planning to launch the Surface Pro 5, the Surface Book 2 and the Surface Phone in early 2017. The rumors mill is expecting the Surface Pro 5 to be unveiled in January or springtime.

The software titan also remains silent about the Surface Phone. The firm has neither confirmed nor denied any of the rumors spreading about the Surface Phone, a new Windows 10 Mobile-powered phone that may replace the iPhone as a smartphone superstar.

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to start at$899, depending on specifications and bundled accessories.

Surface Pro 5 To Compete with MacBook Pro 2016

Reports suggest that Microsoft is taking aim at Apple’s iPad Pro 2 and MacBook Pro 2016 with its new Surface Pro 5.

Apple unveiled the new MacBook Pro line at the end of October in San Francisco. The tech giant revealed two models: a 13-inch notebook and a 15-inch model. Both machines feature Retina display, Touch Bar, a larger Force Touch trackpad, and Touch ID, and USB-C ports.

Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple, said that they received record numbers of pre-orders for the new notebook.
