Apple Inc. is edging closer to the Fall launch of its hugely awaited iPhone 7 range. Although just over 2 months away, there has been no shortage of talks about the devices. What they will pack and, more recently, what they won’t has filled up the internet. The truth is that no real official comment has been made on the iPhone 7. However, that doesn’t stop the rumor mill from turning up with new items for iPhone fans to expect.
Some feel as though the iPhone 7 will not be a worthy upgrade though. It has been described by some as a place-filler device from Apple. The real wow is said to be iPhone 8, which would defy all expectations when it comes to its look and features.
What to expect from Apple Inc.’s iPhone 7
Sources like Forbes report that the devices has already gone into production. This is probably true. The massive demand for Apple’s flagship product breaks the 10 million unit mark every year in just the first weekend of its launch. What to expect has mostly been left to the public to speculate.
A large number of alleged leaks are helping iPhone lovers figure things out. Others might argue that they only add to the noise. Whatever your stance, the rumors and “expert” commentary certainly add to he excitement of the upcoming big reveal. So what can we expect from Apple this year?
Starting with the most likely, the U.S. tech firm might be adding a new color to the iPhone range. Space Black will allegedly be among the growing number of iPhone colors that buyers can choose from. None of the colors from last year’s version will be done away with either. Silver, Black, the popular Rose Gold, Gold and Space Grey will be offered with the new editions.
3 iPhones and sound change
The iPhone has been reported to come in three versions this year. That’s right, some sources insist that three iPhone 7s will be unveiled this year. Beyond the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will likely be the iPhone 7 Pro. There has been a lot of confusion regarding the alleged Pro version. Some outlets have reported the device as the Plus version’s replacement. Instead of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, some expect and iPhone 7 and 7 Pro.
Three iPhone versions is not a far-fetched idea. It would definitely put the device in line with Apple’s other handset range, the iPad. The iPad Pro is the most recent addition to the iPad family. It came just a few short months ago and is Apple’s largest and most premium iPad today. The very same can be expected of the iPhone, it would replace the Plus as the most premium, making the iPhone come in low-range, mid-range and top end variants. It is expected to be slightly larger than the iPhone 7 Plus and cost at least $150 more.
The most prominent rumor is the iPhone 7’s audio jack removal. It has been spread so much that most fans have accepted it as the truth. The iPhone 7 range will not have a 3.5mm audio port. This will be done to make it slimmer and more waterproof. Numerous “leaks” have arisen arguing this and they have been relatively convincing with their alleged proofs and arguments.
Sound plug-in is expected to be moved to the product’s lightning port. Experts say it will also allow for better sound quality.
Very little has been said about the iPhone 8 but it certainly has been praised a lot even though it is over a year away. Its display will be unlike any Apple device we’ve seen and could pack some impressive VR features too.
Above is an allegedly leaked picture of the the device sourced from Tech 2. There are enough rumors about the this year’s iPhone to worry about though. For now, the tech world is focused on those. However, if this picture holds any truth, iPhone fans should gear up for a mind-blowing device in 2017.
