Apple Inc. released a list of top five holiday movies of all time on iTunes in the United States. iTunes is a media management software created by the Cupertino-based tech giant. Through the iTunes Store, users can purchase and download music, shows, podcasts, movies, ringtones, and much more.

#5: The Polar Express
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, The Polar Express was released in 2004. The movie is about a young boy who on Christmas Eve boards a magical train that’s going to the North Pole and Santa Claus’s home. During his adventurous travel, the boy learns about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas, according to IMDB.com.
#4: Home Alone
Home Alone stars Macaulay Culkin and is directed by Chris Columbus. Kevin, an 8-year old troublemaker, was accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation. He was enjoying being alone. On Christmas Eve, Kevin discovers that two burglars who was trying rob his house. He must protect his home from them.
#3: Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey is the Grinch in Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas which was released in 2000. The green, revenge-seeking Grinch plans on ruining the Christmas holiday for all of the citizens of Whoville.
#2: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Originally released in 1989, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation stars Chevy Chase as Clark W. Griswold. This is the third in the “National Lampoon” series about the Griswold family. In National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, the Griswolds must deal with a holiday with their in-laws.
#1: Elf
Elf occupies the top position. It is all-time best-selling holiday movie on iTunes.
Elf features Will Ferrell as Buddy. After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity, according to IMDB.com.
Apple did not provide details about each film’s download numbers. The tech giant encouraged users to use Siri on iPhone or iPad to play these holiday favorites. Other popular holiday titles of this season on iTunes include Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Night Before, A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause, It’s a Wonderful Life, Love Actually and Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
This Year Best Songs and Albums on Apple Music
Earlier this month, Apple Inc. issued a list of the top songs and albums in 2016 on Apple Music.
Drake dominates the top song, and the Hamilton soundtrack is also a top-selling album. The Chainsmokers have two of the top 10 songs this year, and music fans still can’t get enough of Adele’s 25, Rihanna’s ANTI and Frank Ocean’s Blonde.
Apple’s music subscription service boasts 20 million paid subscribers. The company added 3 million paid subscribers in the last three months.
