Burger King, one of the largest fast-food chains in the world, will now accept Bitcoin payments in German locations.
That’s right, and it doesn’t matter if you’re ordering online or via the mobile application – you can spend your hard-earned Bitcoin on a Whopper, fries, or anything else on the menu. This news comes to us via Burger King Germany’s official website, though there isn’t yet news on if you can pay for things in-store with the digital asset.
Interestingly, as the publication reports, Burger King Russia had recently done a similar thing back in 2017. That and the chain also brought out its own cryptocurrency called Whoppercoin later that year. Also, a city in the Netherlands, Arnhem, began accepting Bitcoin in 2017 as well.
It’s only a matter of time before more and more fast-food chains start accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as the digital assets become more mainstream. It will be a sort of snowball effect, really, when it happens.
