Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) to ‘Unleash the Ludicrous Beast’ in Model S P100D

Tesla Model 3 (TSLA)

When Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) introduced their first car, the sporty Roadster, they proved that EVs could be fast and fun to drive. CEO Elon Musk has never been one to rest on his laurels. Every car from Tesla has those same elements of speed, fun, and excitement. The Model S P100D with Ludicrous mode is the firm’s flagship car for showing off speed as it accelerates to 60MpH in 2.5 seconds. Now, Elon Musk thinks that is not quite fast enough and he has hinted that Ludicrous update will push the P100D faster. Tesla came into the auto market as an underdog with a ‘new’ technology hoping to displace older, bigger and established auto firms. Many critics didn’t give the firm much odds of success but the arrival of Elon Musk on the scene changed the narrative. Musk placed his fortune on the line to build Tesla and the rest is history. Musk however is ambitious and he won’t rest until people can’t find a reason not to buy an EV.

What is faster than Tesla’s Ludicrous Mode?

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model S P100D is the third fastest car in production – an impressive feat for an EV that runs on a electric drivetrain. The only two cars in production today are faster than the P100D – the Ferrari LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder. The Model S P100D is still the real deal – Tesla notes that “both the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918 Spyder were limited run, million-dollar vehicles and cannot be bought new…  Those cars are small two seaters with very little luggage space, the pure electric, all-wheel drive Model S P100D has four doors, seats up to 5 adults plus 2 children and has exceptional cargo capacity.”

Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA) Model S Update

Yet, Musk hints that the order is about to change and it would nice to see what Tesla has planned for the P100D – maybe, the car will break records to become the fastest car on the roads. In a tweet posted last Friday, Musk said, “Forgot to mention there will be a P100D Ludicrous Easter egg soon that uncorks the full performance”.

Some drivers of the P100D believe that the new update will cause the car to shatter some records. For instance, one of the responses to the Musk’s tweet reads, “You mean to tell me as fast as this thing is, the beast hasn’t been fully unleashed?” Another comment says, “lol full performance? I have already seen Guys running 10.80’s at the race track!!” and someone else said  “if it goes any faster it will start time traveling…”

2 more compelling reasons to buy the Model S

The Model S is a super impressive car and it outsells every other car in the luxury EV market. It also outperformed every other car that Consumer Reports has ever tested. If you are still finding it somewhat hard to take the plunge to buy an EV, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) has two new reasons you should buy the Model S.

One, Musk has unveiled the Model S with a new all glass roof. He say, “I highly recommend the new all glass roof on the Model S. This was very hard to develop, but it makes the interior feel amazing.” The new all-glass roof of the Model S is a cool feature and Musk notes that he made sure that glass had an excellent (5 Star +) safety in rollover. Two, Musk revealed that the new Model S has an improved reinforced chassis. In his words, “we reinforced the surrounding body structure for improved safety (was already 5 star in all categories).”
