Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) announced that it will launch the Xbox One S in two versions – 500 gigabyte (GB) and 1 terabyte (TB) – on Tuesday, August 23. The redesigned gaming console will arrive in two bundles: the Madden NFL 17 Bundle and the Halo Collection Bundle. The highly-anticipated Xbox One S features 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, 4K video streaming and High Dynamic Range for games and video. Earlier, Microsoft announced that the 2TB Xbox One S will arrive on August 2 in select regions. The company is offering the console with 1TB and 500GB hard drives for $349 and $299, respectively.

The new Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the original Xbox One. The console includes a built-in power supply plays Blu-ray movies. It will also stream video in stunning 4K Ultra HD with High Dynamic Range (HDR). The company moved one of the three USB ports and the pairing button to the front alongside the newly added IR blaster for increased accessibility.
“With HDR support for video and gaming, Xbox One games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, and Scalebound will look even better thanks to a higher contrast ratio between lights and darks, bringing out the true visual depth of your favorite games,” Microsoft said.
Xbox One S is coming bundled with the new Xbox Wireless Controller featuring textured grip, improved Xbox Wireless signal and added Bluetooth support. The controller, introduced in last October, can be bought as a standalone item for $59.99. All Xbox One games, accessories and Xbox Live services will work with Xbox One S.

The 2TB launch edition Xbox One S will be available in limited quantities for $399 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States.
S Madden NFL 17 Bundle and Halo Bundle
The Xbox One S Madden NFL 17 Bundle comes with a 1TB hard drive, a full-game download of Madden NFL 17, seven Madden Ultimate Team Pro Packs and one month of EA Access. The bundle will cost $349.
The Xbox One S Halo Collection Bundle will available with either a 500GB drive or a 1TB drive, a matching Xbox Wireless Controller and five games between Halo 5: Guardians and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
“Both the 500GB and 1TB hard drive options for the Xbox One Halo Collection Bundle will be available at participating retailers, including Microsoft Stores, in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand for $299 USD and $349 USD, respectively,” Microsoft said.
In a blog post, the company said that the 1TB hard drive option will only be available in very limited quantities in the U.S. at select stores and microsoftstore.com.
