Google Pixel is the first smartphone built by the search engine giant. The Pixel is the first 100% made-by-Google phone that feature Android Nougat 7.1 operating system. The Pixel lineup includes two models: the Pixel X and Pixel XL. They were launched in October 2016.
The Pixel comes with key features that you do not find in the iPhone. It features an outstanding camera, a brighter display, the robust voice assistant, an unlimited cloud storage for photos, and a virtual reality integration.
Jay McGregor of Forbes believes that the Pixel XL is the best phone of 2016. He called the bigger model a true all-rounder. Earlier, a report in AFR described the Google Pixel XL a much better than the Apple iPhone 7.
Tech users who used both Google Pixel and the iPhone 7 say that the Pixel devices are better than the iPhone 7 because of a number of reasons. We will discuss those reasons in this article.
1. Google Pixel Has Highest-Rated Smartphone Camera
The Pixel features a 12.3-megapixel camera with a DXO Mark Mobile rating of 89. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 has a 12-megapixel camera with an 86 rating.
DxOMark, the trusted industry standard for camera and lens image quality measurements and ratings, called the Pixel the highest-rated smartphone camera it has ever tested. The phone’s camera is paired with a fast f/2.0 lens, versus f/1.8 lens in the iPhone. Meanwhile, the Pixel boasts an impressive front facing camera with better lens than the iPhone 7 to capture high-quality selfies.
2. Google Pixel Has a Better Display
The Pixel boasts a 5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, while the Pixel XL’s is 2560 x 1440. The Pixel features Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and AMOLED technology to deliver rich and vibrant colors. The AMOLED display is better than the LCD screen of the iPhone.
According to reviews and reports, the Pixel offers sharper and crisper images at higher resolutions. The iPhone 7 has a 4.7-inch LCD display with a 1334 x 750 resolution, while the iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
3. Google Pixel Has Headphone Jack
Apple ditched the standard 3.5mm headphone jack in the iPhone 7. Many people, including me, love the headphone jack, a century-old technology. Removing the headphone jack, the tech giant not only encouraged the usage of wireless headphones but it gave people a reason to switch. When it announced the new Pixel and Pixel XL in October 2016, Google did not miss the opportunity to mention that the Pixel has a headphone jack.
4. Google Assistant Is Awesome
The Pixel comes with the Google Assistant, a digital assistant that is considered way better than Siri in the iPhone.
The search engine company is betting big on the Google Assistant to compete with Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana, and Amazon’s Alexa. Reports suggest that the company is going to upgrade its artificial assistant to allow Pixel users to interact with it by typing instead of just voice interaction.
In addition, the USB-C fast charging of the Pixel is faster than the iPhone.
Morgan Stanley estimates that the Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) subsidiary will generate $3.8 billion in revenue by selling more than 5 million Pixel smartphones in 2017.
