The integration comes after two years of partnership that resulted in Bigcommerce joining its hosted marketplace platform with eBay.com.au, eBay’s Australian subsidiary that also happens to be the market leader in the country. The end result is now what is called eBayLINK.

New Features From eBay

eBayLINK enables online sellers to list items and manage their inventory on eBay effortlessly, and access features such as centralized inventory management and automatic product mapping.

Online retailers can also access customizable templates for listing products and fast bulk listings on the eBayLINK.

“Through the eBay integration, we’ve been able to open up an entirely new sales channel that has dramatically increased our online revenue,” Kerrie Harrison of Baby Barn, said in a press release. “We’ve found the integration easy to use and update, and are constantly updating our stock as it sells out.”

The platform also automatically alerts customers about the status of their orders. It also helps online retailers set custom pricing, offers and with postage. This means sellers can run customized promotions in order to draw customers using features such as discounted pricing or free or low-priced postage offers.

EBayLINK also syncs orders on eBay with inventory levels and simplifies the order management process. This is possible as all inventories and product catalogue in the two channels [eBay.com.au and Bigcommerce] can be managed within the Bigcommerce marketplace.

“In today’s competitive industry, retailers have an incredible opportunity to grow their business across multiple channels, and this integration gives them the opportunity to reach millions of new customers,’ Tim MacKinnon, eBay senior director of retailer growth, was quoted in the news release.

Offers Sellers Wider Market

eBay Inc’s (NASDAQ:EBAY) Australian platform boasts more than 8 million unique monthly visitors, with 50 percent of the retailers in the Asia-Pacific region using the platform eBay.com.au to reach out to their clients. As such, the eBayLINK app for Bigcommerce will familiarize sellers who have never used eBay with the site to help them gain access to a wider pool of potential buyers.

Sellers who have signed for the beta test have seen sales grow up to 50 percent after the Bigcommerce and eBay integration. Current Bigcommerce clients who wish can download and install the eBayLINK application via this link in the Bigcommerce Marketplace.

Research firm Ipsos reported last month that store growth at Bigcommerce was two times faster than the e-commerce industry average last year. Merchants who traded on Bigcommerce reported 50 percent annual growth between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.

Last year, Bigcommerce addressed seven out of the ten most requested by its users such as faceted search, drop-shipping capabilities, advanced discounting and couponing features, single page checkout, per product shipping options, shipping and payment methods by customer group and advanced shipping calculator.
