Apple Inc. is expected to launch its third-generation smartwatch, dubbed the Apple Watch 3, in September along with the highly-anticipated iPhone 8.
The Apple Watch 3 is rumored to feature a Micro-LED display, glass-film touch technology, wireless charging and a camera. In addition, Apple is expected to add sleep tracking and glucose monitoring app to its upcoming smartwatch.
Rumors also indicate that Apple will add a smart band to the third-generation smartwatch.

Apple Watch 3 Rumors, Specs Features
The Watch Series 3 is rumored to feature a Micro-LED display. Micro-LEDs are designed for small, low-energy devices and offer higher brightness than OLEDs. These displays also consume less power compared to conventional LCDs, thus saving the battery life.
According to rumors, the watch’s screen size is expected to remain unchanged at 1.65 inches, while the resolution is also likely to remain at 390 x 312.
Susquehanna Financial Group semiconductor analyst Christopher Rolland predicted that the next Apple Watch will come with a SIM card and LTE support.
Apple is betting big on the camera technology in its upcoming devices as this is one of major selling points. Rumors suggest that the Apple Watch 3 will feature a front-facing camera, allowing users to make FaceTime calls. A report from 9to5Mac claimed that Apple is considering to add a camera into the smartwatch’s top bezel.
Moreover, the third-generation wearable is expected to feature a smart band. Apple filed a patent which includes the design of a smart fabric wristband that shows show the time and simple notifications.
The next update of Apple Watch is said to come with new health and fitness features including a glucose monitor. According to a report from CNBC, Apple is building a non-invasive, continuous glucose monitor for its new smartwatch.
Meanwhile, Apple previewed WatchOS 4, the latest version of the company’s smartwatch operating system, at WWDC in June. The new version features three new watch faces including a smart Siri face designed to offer personalized information. It also includes a revamped Music app, new workout and activity features, and Apple Pay.
Further, Apple is reportedly putting a lot of attention on improving the watch’s battery. According to a report from Chinese newspaper Economic Daily News, the technology giant contracted Taiwan-based Quanta to manufacture the Apple Watch 3. The paper was informed by unnamed sources that Quanta’s “main task” is improving the battery life of the watch.

Apple offered the Watch Series 1 at $349 and the Watch Series 2 at $369. The tech giant is most likely to keep the Watch 3 in the $300-$350 range.
