Apple Inc. will reportedly unveil its next iPhone during the second week of September at a grand event at San Francisco. The smart phone will be called either iPhone 6S or iPhone 7, but the event, say rumors, is going to be much bigger than expected.
Apple planning bug event
San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts with a seating capacity of 755 is the venue where Apple usually holds its launch events. But, the launch event for the upcoming iPhone could be held at a new venue. Hoodline, a local San Francisco blog, revealed that the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium has been hired by someone for running a ‘trade show’ from September 4 to 13. It has a seating capacity of 7,000, and is located at the heart of San Francisco’s Civic Center neighborhood.
The fact that the timing of the event at Bill Graham coincides with that of Apple’s iPhone event, and the name of the person or the company hiring is kept a secret indicates that Apple could be behind it. As pointed by Hoodline, the time is unusual for a ‘trade show’ as it spans the Labour Day holiday in the U.S.
Right now there is no information on for whom the space has been booked. The venue is patrolled by security guards, and power generators can be seen stationed outside, reveals Hoodline. The application filed with the Planning Department reveals that four of the building windows will be removed for the event to make way for giant fibreglass logos. All this indicates that Apple is planning for a grand event with 7000 attendees.
