Twitter Inc , Ford Motor Company and Pfizer Inc. will release quarterly results on Tuesday. Here’s what investors can expect:

earnings

Twitter Inc

Social-media giant Twitter will be releasing second-quarter earnings results after the close of trade on Tuesday. For the quarter ended June 30, the average analysts’ estimate is for earnings of 4 cents a share on revenue of $480 million that would mark year-over-year increases of 50 percent and 54 percent, respectively. Full year earnings are projected to climb to 14 cents a share, while revenue should come in at $2.2 billion.

For the first quarter of 2015, Twitter Inc recorded $436 million in sales, which was below the consensus estimate of $456 million.

Twitter Inc  stock has primarily been hurt by disappointing user growth. By the end of the first quarter, the company had 302 million monthly active users, which translated into a year-over-year growth of 18 percent. Compare that with Facebook, which has a gigantic user base of 1.44 billion, and still managed to clock a 13 percent annual growth rate during the first quarter of 2015.

Ford Motor Company

Ford will report its second-quarter earnings early on Tuesday. The consensus of analysts covering the stock is for earnings of $0.37 a share; down from the corresponding quarter adjusted figure of $0.40 a share.

Ford Motor Company expects full-year pre-tax profit to come in somewhere between $8.5 billion and $9.5 billion. CEO Mark Fields has also forecast higher revenue and operating margin in 2015 versus 2014.

Typically, Ford Motor Company tends to earn less in the second half. This is because new models are launched during that period, and those models begin to reflect on the earnings only during the first part of the following year.  However, things might prove to be different this time around amid the huge costs of launching the newer version of Ford’s F-150 pickup.

Another area of concern is the recent slowdown in China. General Motors Company managed to overcome the weakness there through cost cuts. Will Ford Motor Company be able to replicate that?

Pfizer Inc.

Pfizer is all set to release its Q215 quarterly numbers on Tuesday. Analysts expect the drug major to report earnings of $0.51 a share on sales of $11.39 billion for the period. For the current fiscal year, analysts expect Pfizer to record $2.04 EPS, while for the next fiscal, that number should be around $2.33.

During the first quarter, Pfizer Inc. posted $0.51 in earnings per share, which beat the consensus estimate of $0.49. Revenue came in at $10.86 billion for the quarter, versus the consensus estimate of $10.79 billion.

Pfizer Inc. closed Friday at $34.28, and has a 52-week low of $27.51 and high of $35.53, with a price-to-earnings ratio of 23.78.
