Recent reports from various reliable sources suggest that the tech behemoth will offer two standard versions – the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus – and a special edition – possibly dubbed the iPhone 8 – in the second half of 2017 to mark the iPhone’s 10 anniversary.

The special version, the iPhone 8, is expected to come with major design changes and exciting features. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple will set an iPhone sales record next year. In this article, we’ve rounded up five of the most exciting rumors out there.

Red Color Option, No Design Changes

A report from the reliable Japanese publication Macotakara suggests that Apple will release a red version of the iPhone in 2017.

Citing a source within an Apple supplier in Taiwan, the news website reported that the Cupertino-based tech firm plans to unveil the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus next year.

According to the report, Apple won’t make any changes to the designs of the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. They will be updated with a new A11 chip only. In addition, the next year’s standard iPhone models won’t come together with either the wireless charge or glass chassis, the report said.

Rumors suggested that the next year’s iPhone will come with glass front and back design like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. The phone might come with either a stainless steel or aluminum metal casing.

iPhone 8 Price

A report from news website Racing Junky suggests that the iPhone 8 is going to be a very expensive device.

The iPhone 8 will get a price tag of around $1200, which is huge. However, the iPhone 7S and the iPhone 7S Plus are said to be launched at the same prices as the current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, according to the report.

iPhone 8 To Feature Curved OLED Display

Apple might add an OLED (organic light emitting diode) displays in the next year’s iPhone. The company might be saying a good bye to LCD display next year as OLEDs offer better color contrasts and consume less power.

A report from The Wall Street Journal suggested that tech giant ordered its suppliers to boost production of OLED displays and submit prototype screens. Unnamed sources told the WJS that Apple could introduce an iPhone with an OLED screen (might be the iPhone 8) as one of several models will be unveiled.

Nikkei Asian Review reported that tech iPhone maker may introduce certain iPhone models with curved screen on both sides. According to the publication, the rounded model, similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, will be a 5.5-inche device.
