Tesla Motors Inc has just rolled out the red carpet at a unique kind of store down under. Already breaking strongly into Australia, the U.S. electric car maker has just opened its first Tesla retail store in Sydney. News outlet Mashable displays the scene.
Sydney’s business district has just gained an electrifying new attraction. Tesla’s first retail store opened its doors in the city’s fashionable Martin Place. It is not one of the EV giant’s ordinary retailers either. Unlike most of its showrooms, a range the energy products are on display as well. They accompany Tesla’s luxury EVs and a are housed elegantly in a single store.
Tesla enhances itself Down Under
It has been described to be a lot like an Apple store, only it holds numerous varieties of Tesla products and components. The double story retail location features three Model S sedans, as well as home displays that elegantly show off Tesla Motors’ storage gadgets.
The EV company’s home battery solutions are an essential sell in the country. Its Tesla Powerwall hit the ground running when it was introduced. A lot of reports infer that demand for the product is significantly high in the region. Promoting both products would also help develop a consumer base that highly aware of the brand an what it has to offer.
Speaking to the outlet Renew Economy, Tesla spokesperson Heath Walker explained the store’s purpose. “The aim of the shop is to educate people on what Tesla can offer in terms of EVs and home storage.”
Elon Musk does things differently
Better yet, Walker says that after having a glance at the company’s products ranges, people can arrange to test drive an EV. “The difference is we’re not a traditional dealership. We don’t actually have any stock in our store. The aim is to give people opportunity to learn about our products, and even test drive them.”
The energy company is very disruptive and is climbing loudly through the auto industry. It has scored a lot of dislike for tradition automotive brands. The firm enjoys its freedom to operate as it pleases and often has to fights in order to be do things differently.
Although it is the first of its kind in the country, Tesla Motors has three other stores in Australia. They operate as showrooms and service centers in Sydney, Richmond and St. Leonards. However, they are without a fancy lounge were one can peruse through glossy components and Powerwalls.
Tesla Motors Inc is expected roll out its Model 3 towards the end of next year. The upcoming car has drawn around 400,000 pre-orders so far and is still a year way from being built. Mashable reports that Australia could be among the first places the world will see and drive the EV.
