Apple Inc. ’s watches will be available to the buyers at a discount of $100 at the electronics retailer Best Buy starting Wednesday. The retailer has described it as one of the hottest gift items of the holiday season. The discount will continue through Christmas.
Will $100 discount be enough?
Best Buy is offering this deal in stores and on its official website. The starting price of the watch is $349, and all the models are covered under the Best Buy’s deal. Apple Watch is an accessory, and like most of the smart-watches, the customers will need to own an iPhone 5 or later to use it.
Apple’s watch offers customers the convenience of staying connected without the need to checking their phone constantly. The device serves up messages and issues reminders to get up and take a walk around at regular intervals, and also handles a bit of shopping duty care of Apple Pay.
On Black Friday also, there were several promotional offers, allowing customers, who were slow to jump on the Apple Watch bandwagon, to buy the premium gadget. Previously, at Best Buy the stainless steel Apple Inc. Watch was available at a discount of $100 and the Sports version was available at a discount of $50 after which their effective prices declined to $449 and $299, respectively. Target offered a Gift Card worth $100 with the purchase of Apple Watch.
Interested customers need to act quickly to avail the offer as it will end on Christmas. It will be interesting to see whether or not this discount of $100 is enough to sway buyers interested in buying Apple’s pretty but pricey smartwatch.
Apple Watch 2, iPhone 6c in March
At a time when buyers may be planning to buy the Apple Watch, the iPhone firm may be planning to reveal its next-gen watch. In March 2016, the firm could organize a spring event to reveal the Apple Watch 2, informed 9to5Mac. It is rumored that from April, the firm will start shipping the second-gen watch.
Apple Inc. is also working on a 4-inch iPhone or the iPhone 6C as well. There are chances that the 6c would be introduced in the same event. For several months now, there have been rumors of a budget-friendly iPhone 6c. Initially, it was expected to be released in September along with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Then there was news of it coming in January, and now latest news pins it to the March event.
