Apple Inc. is expected to launch three new MacBooks at the media event next week, according to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In a report published on Saturday, the analyst wrote that the tech company will launch a new 13-inch MacBook, a new 13-inch MacBook Pro and a new 15-inch MacBook Pro, 9to5Mac reported.
What to Expect From Apple MacBook Event
Apple is holding the event on October 27 in Cupertino. According to the reports, the tagline on the invite, Hello Again, is clear reference to the Mac, which was launched in 1984 with the word, Hello. The event is expected to include a new iMac desktop, MacBook Air, as well as a new standalone 5K monitor.
The new iMacs and the external display will not be shipping this year, according to the 9to5Mac report. KGI expects these products to arrive in the first half of 2017.
“KGI does not know if Apple will announce early the new iMacs or new Cinema Display (detailed as having a 27 inch panel) at the event, but Ming-Chi Kuo seems confident that they are not ready to release,” 9to5Mac reported.
KGI said that the new MacBook Pro will come with “many” major upgrades. The firm also believes that Apple is going to launch a new “13 inch MacBook”, a successor to the 12 inch single-port Retina MacBook first released in 2015.
KGI did not mention any changes to the MacBook Air line up.
Apple Inc. is reportedly including USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports on the new MacBook Pro.
Forbes reported that the new MacBook Pro is expected to be available in both 13 inch and 15 inch model. The Cupertino-based could introduce an updated 13 inch model of the MacBook Air. According to the report, the tech giant may discontinue the 11 inch model of the MacBook Air.
The revamped MacBook Pro is expected to have a thinner and lighter form factor, according to KGI analyst Kuo. The analyst said in his report that the new MacBook Pro would come in 13- and 15-inch variations, and will have Touch ID and a new OLED display touch bar above the keyboard.
Kuo believes that the new MacBook Pro would receive the “most significant upgrade ever undertaken by Apple.” The analyst expects that the new laptop will be powered by a faster Skylake processor.
The rumors suggest that the new notebook will feature a Touch ID sensor, which is expected to sit somewhere near the touch pad or form part of the top Apple logo. According to the reports, Apple’s updated macOS operating system would make debut in the all-new 2016 MacBook Pro.
Apple Inc. is reportedly is interested in using a laptop version of Sonder Design’s dynamic keyboard in its future MacBook laptops. The Sonder Design’s dynamic keyboards use electronic ink to change key labels on the go, in its future laptops.
The high-end, next generation Macbook is rumored to feature an OLED screen, which offers better visuals with greater color contrasts. OLED lets users get a lot more battery from their device and consumes less power due to how it relays pixels. Moreover, the notebook boast a quadruplet of USB-C ports, two on each side, maybe even with a few new color variations.
