Apple Inc. has moved its quarterly earnings call from October 27 to October 25, giving a signal that the Cupertino-based company is planning to unveil a new and improved MacBook Pro on Thursday, October 27. On the day before, October 26, Microsoft Corporation is holding an event in New York City, where the company is rumored to announce an all-in-one Surface PC. It seems that the two tech companies are going to start a laptops war. Both companies did not release any official details about their upcoming devices, so let’s take a look at rumors swirling about new MacBook Pro and new Surface PC.
Apple MacBook Pro 2016
A report in TechRadar suggested that the MacBook Pro will come with a new hinge design. The report claims that those designs will be supplied by Amphenol, which also makes the hinges on the Microsoft Surface Book.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report that the MacBook Pro will have a new design. The thinner, lighter notebook will come with several new features including the Touch ID sensor, touch bar, Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C. The analyst, who is famous for making correct predictions about Apple’s devices, expects faster Skylake processors inside. The analyst predicts that there will be an OLED display touch bar just above the keyboard.
Rumors suggest that the new notebook will feature a Touch ID sensor, which is expected to sit somewhere near the touch pad or form part of the top Apple logo. Very little else has been said about this feature but it appears to be a popular and well-liked concept.
Apple is reportedly working on a new update for its macOS operating system, which is set to make debut in the all-new 2016 MacBook Pro.
The next generation Macbook will come with an OLED screen, which will offer better visuals with greater color contrasts. OLED lets users get a lot more battery from their device and consumes less power due to how it relays pixels. The notebook boast a quadruplet of USB-C ports, two on each side, maybe even with a few new color variations.
The new Macbook, according to the reports, will come in 13 and 15-inch variants with price estimates set around $1,099 to $1,300.
