Apple Inc. (AAPL) To Launch iPhone 7 With Dual Camera on Sept. 16: Sources

Apple Inc (AAPL) iPhone 7

Apple Inc.  is preparing to release the long-awaited iPhone 7 as early as next month, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the company’s plans. The larger iPhone will feature a dual-camera system and a re-engineered pressure-sensitive home button, the people said, who wanted not to be disclosed. In addition, the device won’t have a headphone jack, according to those unidentified people.

As we reported earlier, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September. According to the rumor mill, the new iPhone will be similar to the iPhone 6s, but it may be a little thinner.

Noticeable Tweaks

According to the Bloomberg report, the iPhone 7 will look similar to the 6 and 6S, but there will be noticeable tweaks. The new devices will come with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes. There won’t be the two innermost antenna lines on the back of the iPhones.

The phone will come with a dual camera system designed to produce brighter photos with more detail, according to a person, who has used a prototype version of the new iPhone.

“Both sensors, which each capture color differently, simultaneously take a picture, and the device produces a single, merged photograph, said the person,” Bloomberg reported.

The dual system improve the quality of photos taken in low-light environments. “The combination of the merged photos from the two camera sensors also allows users to zoom while retaining more clarity,” the person said.

Earlier this year, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone 7 Plus will get dual-lens iSight cameras and 3GB of RAM for image processing. The analyst said that all of the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus models are coming with these features, except the 4.7-inch iPhone 7.

Additionally, Apple Inc.  is making changes to home button for the new models. The new phones will have a pressure-sensitive button that provides feedback to the user via a vibrating haptic sensation rather than a true physical click, according to the people.

Moreover, Apple is killing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in favor of connectivity via Bluetooth and the charging port, the people said. Earlier reports suggested that the company is working on a new set of wireless earbuds. The Lightning EarPods will be similar to the EarPods but will have a Lightning connector and be so completely wireless that there won’t be a wire connecting the left bud with the right bud.

The new iPhone models will run iOS 10, the new version of Apple’s mobile operating system coming this fall.

Apple iPhone Release Date

Evan Blass, who has an impressive record regarding Apple’s rumors, revealed that the iPhone 7 will be released during the week of September 12th, 2016. According to a report published on 9to5Mac, Apple may release the next iPhone on Friday, September 16th, 2016.

It’s largely expected that Apple will release three new models this year. In addition to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, a third new model will also make a debut at the company’s September event. According to the rumor mill, the third model’s camera technology will be dissimilar to what Apple offer in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Shares of Apple Inc.  have gained over 14% during the past six months.
