As expected, Apple Inc. has confirmed that it is holding an event next week to announce new laptops. The company just sent out invites for the event, which will be held October 27 in Cupertino. According to a report in The Verge, the tagline on the invite, Hello Again, is clear reference to the Mac, which was launched in 1984 with the word. Hello. The rumors suggest that Apple will introduce an new MacBook Pro and a refreshed 13-inch MacBook Air at the event. A report in Bloomberg News suggested that the hardware event could include a new iMac desktop, MacBook Air, along with a new standalone 5K monitor.
According to the report, the tech behemoth will include USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports on the new MacBook Pro. “That might surprise potential MacBook Pro owners, but it’s the same strategy that Apple used in its 12-inch MacBook. Many will be hoping that Apple manages to squeeze more than one USB Type-C port inside the new MacBook Pro, though, and that it leaves the headphone jack alone for now,” the The Verge reads.
Forbes reported that the new MacBook Pro is expected to be available in both 13 inch and 15 inch model. The Cupertino-based could also introduce an updated 13 inch model of the MacBook Air. The report suggests that the company may discontinue the 11 inch model of the Air. “That would not be a shock as the 12 inch MacBook is ruling this space and the smallest Air is lacking any unique features that could help it stand out,” the publication reported.
