Apple stock

As expected, Apple Inc. has confirmed that it is holding an event next week to announce new laptops. The company just sent out invites for the event, which will be held October 27 in Cupertino. According to a report in The Verge, the tagline on the invite, Hello Again, is clear reference to the Mac, which was launched in 1984 with the word. Hello. The rumors suggest that Apple will introduce an new MacBook Pro and a refreshed 13-inch MacBook Air at the event. A report in Bloomberg News suggested that the hardware event could include a new iMac desktop, MacBook Air, along with a new standalone 5K monitor.

According to the report, the tech behemoth will include USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports on the new MacBook Pro. “That might surprise potential MacBook Pro owners, but it’s the same strategy that Apple used in its 12-inch MacBook. Many will be hoping that Apple manages to squeeze more than one USB Type-C port inside the new MacBook Pro, though, and that it leaves the headphone jack alone for now,” the The Verge reads.

Forbes reported that the new MacBook Pro is expected to be available in both 13 inch and 15 inch model. The Cupertino-based could also introduce an updated 13 inch model of the MacBook Air. The report suggests that the company may discontinue the 11 inch model of the Air. “That would not be a shock as the 12 inch MacBook is ruling this space and the smallest Air is lacking any unique features that could help it stand out,” the publication reported.

Apple MacBook Pro to feature OLED touch bar

The revamped MacBook Pro is expected to have a thinner and lighter form factor, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The analyst said in a report that the new MacBook Pro would come in 13- and 15-inch variations, and will have Touch ID and a new OLED display touch bar above the keyboard, Mac Rumors reported.

According to Kuo, the new MacBook Pro would receive the “most significant upgrade ever undertaken by Apple.” The analyst expects that the new laptop will be powered by a faster Skylake processor.

The rumors suggest that the new notebook will feature a Touch ID sensor, which is expected to sit somewhere near the touch pad or form part of the top Apple logo.

According to the reports, Apple’s updated macOS operating system would make debut in the all-new 2016 MacBook Pro.

Apple killing traditional USB port

The high-end, next generation Macbook is rumored to feature an OLED screen, which offers better visuals with greater color contrasts. OLED lets users get a lot more battery from their device and consumes less power due to how it relays pixels.

Moreover, the notebook boast a quadruplet of USB-C ports, two on each side, maybe even with a few new color variations.

Latest reports suggest that Apple Inc. will include USB Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 ports on the new MacBook Pro. “That might surprise potential MacBook Pro owners, but it’s the same strategy that Apple used in its 12-inch MacBook. Many will be hoping that Apple manages to squeeze more than one USB Type-C port inside the new MacBook Pro, though, and that it leaves the headphone jack alone for now,” according to a report in The Verge.

Apple is reportedly is interested in using a laptop version of Sonder Design’s dynamic keyboard in its future MacBook laptops. The Sonder Design’s dynamic keyboards use electronic ink to change key labels on the go, in its future laptops.
