Apple Inc. ’s new iPhone 7 is undoubtedly a pleasure to own because of all the cool new features it offers. But, there is one thing that the buyers are not very happy with – a single port meant to be used for the headphones as well as the charger.
What’s even more painful is the fact that Apple is offering the new wireless Airpods at a steep $160. They do solve the problem, but are expensive to own. However, there are several Bluetooth headphones on the market that offer a more affordable, and in some cases, a better option.
Low price alternatives to Apple ‘Airpods’
A report from csmonitor did some working to find out good alternatives to the expensive Apple Inc. ‘Airpods,’ and come up with five Bluetooth earphones. All of them are priced less than $100, and are a good buy even for users who do not own an iPhone 7. Among the most suitable earphones are the ones from Plantronics and Beats.
Most review sites have consistently ranked these at the top of the list for reliable Bluetooth headphones that won’t burn a hole in the buyers’ pocket. Plantronics is one of the bigger names in mobile audio currently, with a good reputation as well.
Its headphones (Plantronics Backbeat Fit Bluetooth Headphones – Lowest price: $75.99) come with a coating that resists sweat during a workout, and allow the users to take calls through a built-in mic. It comes with a wrap around design that makes it less flexible compared to other models here, but the rigidity does have some admirers as well.
Next in the list is Beats. Though it has many fans, as per csmoniter they are overpriced. The Powerbeats2 model, however, is an exception. These wireless earphones have received good reviews from the buyers, and are often on sale. The after-discount price is pretty much justified.
The original price of these headphones is $139.99, but most often they are on sale for $100 or less. These are meant for sports usage with over-the-ear hooks, and have a leash between earbuds to ensure that they remain on users’ head. Their exterior is water resistant.
Other popular substitutes
Motorola has been making mobile accessories for several years now, and hence, their line of Bluetooth headphone set can be relied upon. The headphone (Motorola VerveLoop+ – Lowest Price $79.99) comes with interesting features such as Hubble Connect app that helps the users trace their lost earphones by locating where they were last synced.
Also, they feature multiple EQ settings that allow users to choose the bass of their choice. They are extremely popular, and hence, get consistently good reviews from Amazon customers.
Next two are Jabra Sport Pace ($75.01) and JayBird X2 Sport ($79.99). They are not among the best headphones for 2016, but they manage to attract buyers for delivering good audio performance and are a good option for Apple Inc. iPhone 7 users looking for compatible Bluetooth earphones with price below $100.
