Invites to Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) reveal event in May have already been sent. Hardware will not be the company’s focus this time around, but people can be sure the American tech giant will offer details about the future of its incoming software solutions. The Microsoft CloudBook is rumored to be coming out in two weeks too. Reports about the device going into production made headlines several months ago. The gadget is expected to be seen on May 2nd.
Microsoft dubbed its upcoming event with the hashtag #MICROSOFTEDU, emphasizing again that education and training will the focus of the reveal date. The event will be hosted by Microsoft’s top visionary and CEO, Satya Nadella. Those not at the event will be able to view the event live from this link.
Those hoping for the Surface Phone to make an appearance will be disappointed. Sources claim the device is far from completion with the state of Windows 10 Mobile as its biggest obstacle. The premium 2-in-1 Surface Pro 5 will also be absent this next month. It is alleged that the tablet will only be seen around fall.
There is the chance that Microsoft will finally pull the veil off its Windows 10 Cloud OS. This is said to be the company’s online operating system, dedicated to making use of apps only available on the Windows Store. Windows 10 Cloud will also be Microsoft’s major leap into cloud and education markets along with the rumored CloudBook.
The CloudBook will make use of Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) new Cloud OS. It would be pitted against the ChromeBook, a similar product from Google’s parent entity, Alphabet Inc. CloudBook educational software will likely be unveiled on May 2.
Satya Nadella rose to be the current CEO by pushing Microsoft’s cloud computing divisions to the fore. Under his guidance, the makers of Windows covered a lot of ground in the markets of remote storage and computing services. They now stand as a formidable rival in the race to secure first place in global cloud and AI solutions.
“There [only] are a few companies that are at the cutting-edge of AI, Nadella tells the AFR last year “in whichever way you look at it.” The MSFT boss strongly believes that his company makes that cut. Microsoft under Nadella is focused not so much on building consumer hardware as it is in creating software for hardware users. The company a growing interest in raking in mobile cloud service subscriptions.
Microsoft CloudBook arrives
Microsoft is reported to have the a fixed laptop in production. According to sources like Digitimes, the gadget could be released within the next few weeks.
News suggests that Microsoft’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) immanent hardware release will be a fixed clamshell laptop. The device does not line-up with the Surface lineup’s distinct two-in-one form factor, so its not suspected to be a new Surface Book. The product is more likely to be the CloudBook.
There are, however, speculators who believe the move say it would make the Surface Book more inclusive and affordable. Thisvwould also give the Surface Pro range greater room to dominate the tablet market.
The CloudBook is said to have just gone into large-scale assembly. Digitimes claims that “shipments are expected to rise each month, according to sources from the related upstream supply chain.” Those looking forward to an official announcement can expect Microsoft to make news of the CloudBook “at the end of March or April.”
