Google Pixel 2 Rumors
The Google Pixel 2 is said to feature improved waterproof and camera technology.
A reliable source told 9to5 Google that the search engine giant is intensely focusing on the camera. The source also said that Google is testing chipsets from two different manufacturers for the update of the Pixel.
According to the report, Google is aiming to master low light photography with the next-generation device. The Pixel 2’s camera will “not have large MP size,” but will rather “compensate in extra features,” 9to5 Google reported citing the source.
The source said the search engine giant is testing multiple Pixel 2 models with improved chipsets. In some models, the company is using Snapdragon 83X chips, while others have Intel chips.
Moreover, the report has suggested that Google is planning to launch lower-end Pixel smartphones this year. The company is testing a “few” prototypes of a device they referred to as “Pixel 2B”, which would is expected to be released either “alongside or shortly after Pixel 2.” Google is looking to offer a lower-price device “aimed at different markets,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the source said Google developed “a custom chipset for a test device.” However, the source was not sure whether this custom chipset is coming to the Pixel 2.
Google is expected to launch the Pixel 2 in October or November this year.
