The tech world is expecting to see cool new products in 2017. Last year, we saw the iPhone 7, Microsoft Surface Studio, Xbox One S, Google Pixel, MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, among others.
We have a big list of products launching this year. We are expecting new Samsung smartphones, new Apple products (iPads, iMac, iPhone 8), new Google hardware (Google Pixel 2, Google smartwatch, Google laptop running a special version of Android), Microsoft devices (a new Surface Pro version, Surface Book 2, Surface Phone), and a new gaming console dubbed the Xbox Project Scorpio.
Let’s discuss Samsung Galaxy S8, Apple iPads, Google Pixel 2, Google smartwatch, and Xbox Project Scorpio.
Samsung Galaxy S8
2016 was not a good year for Samsung. The Korean electronics giant had to recall the Galaxy Note 7 due to battery fire problems. To recover from the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, the company will launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, next month.
Samsung announced that it will hold an event on March 29 to unveil the Galaxy S8 which is rumored to feature a wireless charging technology. The Galaxy S8 is expected to be the safer phone. It might have wireless charging, dual-camera setup and waterproof design.
In addition, rumors suggest that Samsung could unveil a smartphone with bendable display sometimes this year.
Awesome Apple iPads
Apple is expected to introduce three cool new iPads this year. Latest reports suggest the tech giant could launch the tablets in March.
The new models will include a bezel-free 10.9-inch design and a new 9.7-inch low-cost iPad Pro, which will be sold alongside the iPad Mini.
True Tone, which allows devices to adjust the color temperatures of their displays in real time, will be featured in all three models, according to latest rumors.
Google Pixel 2
Google introduced the Pixel smartphone last year. The Pixel is the first 100% made-by-Google phone. Under the Pixel brand, the search engine giant launched two models: the Pixel X and Pixel XL.
No doubt, the Google Pixel 1 was a hit phone, and now the tech world is waiting for the Google Pixel 2. Jay McGregor of Forbes called the Pixel XL the best phone of 2016. A report from AFR described the Pixel XL a much better than the iPhone 7.
The next-generation Pixel 2 might come this October with the cool camera and improved chipset. Citing a reliable source, 9to5Google reported that Google is testing “a custom chipset” for the Pixel phone. However, the source was unsure if this custom chipset is coming to the Pixel 2.
Google Pixel Smartwatch
Google is expected to launch its own Pixel smartwatch later this year.
Rumors suggest that the company is preparing two circular smartwatches reportedly codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish. The Google Pixel smartwatch are said to feature Android Wear 2.0 and Google Assistant.
According to Android Police, Angelfish feature a 4G/LTE modem, GPS, and a heart-rate sensor. The publication said that Swordfish will miss out on some of those features.
Xbox Project Scorpio
Microsoft is expected to launch the Xbox Project Scorpio in Holiday 2017. The company touted it as “the most powerful console ever created.” The Project Scorpio will boast 6 teraflops of power, and will reportedly 40% more powerful than Sony’s Play Station 4.
The console will provide a cool gaming experience including 4K gaming and high-fidelity virtual reality, Microsoft said. The company said that some existing Xbox One games “will look different” and may “run a little better” on the Project Scorpio.
