Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model 3 promotional videos or images are pretty rare since CEO Elon Musk insists that the electric car maker is anti-selling the car having received about 400k reservations during the first few months after the reveal. However, as per a report from Evannex, some Tesla stores in Europe have, over the past few days, begun showcasing a brand new Model 3 promotional video.
Tesla begins promoting mass-market Model 3
Though we do not expect to see the electric car maker try its hand at conventional advertising anytime soon, the new Model 3 video indicates Tesla’s overreaching aim to deliver a mass-market EV taking shape quickly. The promotional video is nothing special, but it was important because the automaker tends to avoid doing spots like this, says BGR.
Demand for the Model 3, as it looks now, is not exactly a pressing issue for the electric car maker. Though the automaker has not provided us with any updated figures, it is believed that the current tally is somewhere in the 380,000 and 400,000 range.
Now, the most pressing question is not whether the people are interested in the Model 3, but whether the electric car maker can meet such staggering demand in an adequate timeframe. Pretty much everyone knows that the automaker has a history of product delays. This time, the electric car maker has assured investors and prospective buyers that the Model 3 will start shipping by the end of this year.
Will Model 3 face delays?
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA), in an effort to lower production concerns, has explained that the Model 3 manufacturing process will be far less complex than the Model X. In addition, Peter Carlsson – Tesla’s former Supply Chain chief – articulated recently that the popularity and success of the automaker have made it simpler for the automaker to source essential components from suppliers in volume.
Earlier this month, Carlsson said things will get a bit easier, adding that the EV maker has resolved some problems through vertical integration, i.e. by doing things internally. “And with the launch of the Model 3, the volumes of the business will be more attractive, and I think we will see more suppliers relocate.”
The next big event that might release the more active promotion of the Model 3 is expected in the coming weeks, and is referred to as the part 3 of the Model 3 unveiling. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is expected to unveil the final features and design of the car, and could even begin converting reservations into order to begin planning for the production during the last two quarters of the year, notes Electrek.
