Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) Makes its Best-Ever Battlefield Game

Hiren Mehta

Electronic Arts Inc. ‘s Battlefield 1 has been reviewed by Ken Bock of ‘The Country Caller’. Ken writes that making the right decision at the right time has never been more crucial in this game. It had a lot to live up to and it is safe to say that it delivered with this game, adds Ken. As far as the story/play-through goes, right off the bat, you get the sense of the chaos and destruction of world war one with non-linear stories of the horrors and heroics of the war, when you play the war stories mode in the game. In each story, there is something different and emotions run high in each situation as you are confronted with different challenges.

Electronic Arts Inc. Shows the Way for Other FPS Games

There is a training mode in which you learn the basics and get started on your journey, and all of this adds to the multiplayer elements in the game. Moving on to the multiplayer mode, it simply delivers with its team death matches and overall multiplayer, as the game is much more than getting the highest kill count. Players have to adapt to every changing circumstance of the game.

The game scores high on the audio/visual front too, writes Ken. Visually, Battlefield 1 really blows it out of the park; the lens flares withstanding everything else in the game looks amazing and feels like you are in that era. The sound design in this was immaculate as the shells hitting metal floors and the sounds of gunfire along with delayed sounds of distant explosions can be heard. The in-game soundtracks and background music added to the overall experience of the game.

Ken gives his verdict as follows: Battlefield 1 has shown other FPS games that making games in the time period of World War 1 is a viable option and should be explored more as it has a lot to offer. As far as the war stories of Battlefield 1 goes, they had so much to them and made this game a must buy, if it wasn’t one already. This, for Ken, is quite honestly the best battlefield game to date. He gives it a rating of 5/5.

It is Now Madden’s Turn to Shine

In the Q1 2017 earnings call, Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen said Electronic Arts Inc.  has seen replay numbers grow as it releases new downloadable content and characters to its popular franchises. Video games, he said, “need some reason for people to come back and enjoy something again each day or each week. We have cracked that code, we think.” Shortly after the earnings release, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said the firm was encouraged by the performance of individual video games, including Maitland-built Madden football and the firm’s Star Wars games. He said it all added up to an “excellent start” to Electronic Arts Inc. ‘s fiscal year. “Our industry has never been more vigorous and full of opportunity,” he said. “Digital is unlocking more growth and unlocking barriers.”

Wilson also said that downloads of its Madden mobile version were up 25 percent year over year. “Madden is performing well, even in the offseason,” he had said at that time. “With the football season upcoming, we expect that will once again ramp up.” Madden was nominated for the video game hall of fame in March, though it missed the cut.
