There won’t be any bezels or borders, according to John Gruber, who is famous Apple blogger and podcaster, Business Insider reported.

2. iPhone 8 would feature glass front, back design

Apple hasn’t taken a swing at a glass-chastised handset since the iPhone 4S. The company is rumored to be bringing a little class back to glass.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in a report that the iPhone 8 would feature glass front and back design like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. The analyst expects that the device will use either a stainless steel or aluminum metal casing with higher end models likely to feature stainless steel.

3. Hello to OLED, goodbye to LCD

Rumors suggest that the iPhone maker will says goodbye to LCD in 2017. The company’s supply chain reports LCD screen orders to be virtually a fraction of what they were for next year. What little orders are left are suspected to be used on the revamp of March 2016’s iPhone SE.

The new smartphone is rumored to have an OLED screen, which offers better color contrasts. OLED uses less battery due to how it relays pixels, and is more flexible than LCD displays. OLED screen reduces chance of scratches and screen cracks.

4. Apple is ditching home button in 2017 iPhone

There is no idea what technology is going to replace the home button in the iPhone 8. The company might develop touch and display driver integration (TDDI) chips with “integrated fingerprint sensors.”

5. Long-distance wireless charging

According to the reports, Apple Inc. is working tirelessly at making long-range wireless charging a reality. A reasonable distance can be expected for the iPhone 8. This could end the constant worry of battery drainage if the iPhone can always be wirelessly tethered to a charger. Users should expect much, but next year is reported to be the year that the technology gets put to use on the iPhone.

As far as the iPhone 8 release date is concerned, there are mixed rumors. Rumors suggesting that the smartphone will arrive in September next year. The tech giant is expected to be announced between the first and second week of September next year, according to a report in Mirror. However, few reports are speculating that company may release the device on June 29, the same date when the first iPhone smartphone was launched more than nine years ago.
